Its amazing what can escape your notice when you have used an app for a
long time and you settle into the same way of doing things. I’m sure some Citrix admins
will laugh about the fact that I am blogging about the Citrix Program Neighborhood
Quick Launch Bar, but I have never used it before today. In fact, I have never even
seen it, even though I’ve been looking right at it.
I found a reference to it while looking for something else in the client documentation.
For years, I have created individual server connections in the Custom ICA Connections
window to get administrative desktops on each server. The quick launch bar gives you
a place to just type in the server name instead and connect. It works just like the
Terminal Services Client, which I usually default to for connecting to a Citrix desktop
because its quicker.
